The Henry Girls play the Dunfanaghy Jazz & Blues Festival 2016The Henry Girls open the festival with Ted Posonby on Thursday Sept 8th. They play in Holy Trinity Church on the Horn Head Road. Doors open at 7pm and the gig starts at 7.30pm sharp.

Rab McCullough

Rab McCullough is an Irish blues legend having been an active contributor in the 60s and 70s when the blues baby came of age, sharing stage with his peers, who included Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall and The Blues Breakers, etc. Rab is still a vital force on the scene, with his irresistible combination of Irish and American blues and high intensity hard rocking shows helping to redefine contemporary blues music.Watch video on YouTube

Crow Black Chicken

Crow Black ChickenCrow Black Chicken are a three piece rock/blues band from Ireland's deep south. Christy O'Hanlon on vocals and guitar,Stephen McGrath on bass and Gev Barrett on drums. The band formed in 2009 as a blues cover band and soon began writing their own material. In June 2012 the band recorded and released their debut album entitled Electric Soup was recorded live over the space of 5 days. The album received a good response in many quarters, and featured in a full page spread of Classic Rock Blues Magazine. Currently working on album number two the band have been described as 'one to watch' for 2013.

DD & The Delta Boys

DD and the Delta Boys are still hot after just recently playing 3 packed shows at the Monaghan Blues Festival. This four piece Rhythm and Blues outfit have a lively up tempo show that never fails to delight their audiences DD and The Delta Boyswherever they play. Band founder and front man DD (Dermot Donohue) leads with vocals and blistering blues harp and is backed by an energetic trio of Fergus ( Blind Boy) Brennan on guitar, Michael O'Boyce on bass and Ronan McKee on drums. They pay homage to the music of the bygone legends of the Blues such as Little Walter, Muddy Waters along with contemporary heroes such as the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Billy Gibson and others.

Erdini

ErdiniFormed in early 2015, this group of South Donegal musicians are named after the early inhabitants of the River Erne basin. Their music is influenced by both their locality and the extensive culture of the Irish diaspora. The songs and tunes incorporate elements of bluegrass, folk, country, blues, jazz and traditional Irish music. The band is composed of brothers Conor and Rory Corbett on guitar and 5-string banjo, Jim Carbin on mandolin, Marc Geagan on dobro, Jaimie Carswell on bass and Scott McGettigan on drums. They are well-known for their often raucous performances, blistering solos and scintillating vocal harmonies. The band have recently released their first 3 track original EP on the band’s own record label, Modal Citizen Records. Of late Erdini have stolen the show at festivals up and down the country from Westport Bluegrass Festival to playing Bluegrass on the Walls of Derry City uniting musicians from all backrounds and creeds. Erdini also host sit down sessions in their home town of Bundoran all year round in several clubs and bars.

Mirenda Rosenberg Band

musicianSome singers own the stage but Mirenda Rosenberg is famous for owning the stage, the dance floor and sometimes the audience's personal space when she performs! A Mirenda Rosenberg show is always one to remember and Mirenda is accompanied on this occasion by her full 7 piece band.

Mirenda's current album 'Placeholder' is a rich gumbo of musical flavours and tones and is receiving steady airplay on local and national radio. The charismatic singer has showcased her vocal talents and performance skills throughout Ireland and even opened for the legendary Chuck Berry on two separate occasions.

Born in Springfield, Illinois, Mirenda grew up outside Washington DC. Raised the daughter of an ordained minister, Mirenda's musical influences were initially restricted to Christian and classical music. The discovery of jazz and blues on her older brother's radio opened up a whole new musical soundscape and introduced her to the likes of Billie Holliday and Bessie Smith - formative influences who remained constant companions on her musical journey.go to MySpace page

Odd Socks

Oddsocks are a hardworking four piece funk-rock and blues band in their mid 20's. These Dublin based Sligo musicians have been touring Ireland relentlessly since 2009, putting a unique and modern edge on to a classic 70's rock/funk style. They have toured Ireland extensively , playing all the major festivals, as well as having played dates in The Netherlands, France, and the UK. The band bases it’s sound around Hugh Taggart’s singing, songwriting, and guitar playing , but also features the virtuosic Luke Coffey on 5-string banjo and industrious TJ Screene on double bass.
